Better browser audio for the recordings that need it

Ordinary browser screen sharing may reduce system audio to mono or make detailed source audio sound thinner. PodSplice Stereo Tab Audio gives PodSplice users an optional direct stereo connection to the Chrome tab they choose.

It is especially useful for reaction videos, music commentary, software demonstrations, online courses, presentations, and any recording where the original left and right audio channels matter.

Why record Chrome tab audio in stereo?

Preserve stereo detail

Keep distinct left and right channel information when Chrome and the source provide stereo audio. Music and other detailed source material can sound fuller and more natural than a mono browser capture.

Record video your way

Choose a Chrome tab, application window, or entire screen for the picture. The extension audio remains connected to the source tab you selected.

Keep audio on separate tracks

PodSplice records system audio and microphone audio separately, giving you more control when editing and exporting.

Skip complicated audio routing

No virtual audio cables, desktop mixers, or operating-system loopback configuration are required. Connect the source tab, choose your screen, and record.

How PodSplice Stereo Tab Audio works

1. Open PodSplice. Open the PodSplice V2 Recorder in Chrome and choose your normal camera, microphone, and screen settings.

2. Connect the source tab. Open the Chrome tab whose sound you want to record and click the PodSplice Stereo Tab Audio extension icon.

3. Record normally. Return to PodSplice, confirm the connected audio source, and start recording. PodSplice keeps microphone and tab audio on separate tracks.

You choose when audio access begins

The extension can capture only the active tab on which you deliberately click it. It does not monitor other tabs, collect browsing history, or begin recording automatically. Connecting the tab supplies an audio source; PodSplice records and saves it only after you choose to start and save a recording.
